Fortezza da Basso Central Pavilion – Lower Floor K/27
From July 1st to 3rd, on the occasion of Pitti Immagine Filati 97 at Fortezza da Basso, D-house laboratorio urbano presents “Knitwear Legacy”, a project brought to life through three looks by PECORANERA, designed and created to showcase the technologies housed within the urban laboratory. The garments are made with high-quality woolen yarns supplied by Suedwolle Group, with the support of The Woolmark Company, along with polyurethane yarns from Coatyarn and yarns from Filpucci, Beppetex e Olmetex. The collaboration also extends to jewelry, with Etere, a unique entity in its field, where artisanal savoir-faire merges with the most advanced frontiers of digital design.
With this project, D-house laboratorio urbano, together with PECORANERA, offers a radically different interpretation: knitwear that merges artisanal savoir-faire and contemporary experimentation, where each garment embodies the balance between memory and innovation. The collections reinterpret icons and shapes of the past through a bold visual language made of sensual silhouettes, sophisticated constructions, and cutting-edge techniques, transforming knitwear into a field of stylistic and expressive research.
Each piece is engineered to create three-dimensional patterns that enhance body shapes, exploring new definitions of femininity and contemporary beauty.
The first look focuses on Coloreel digital embroidery technology. The garment interprets embroidery as a narrative stroke, turning yarn into a moving line that gives life to original and contemporary graphics.
The second look explores the possibilities of embossing. The result is a sculpted knit surface that transforms texture into an expressive element, blending artisanal tradition and production innovation. For this piece, the jewelry brand Etere imagined and created a collection of silver brooches: small points of light that gracefully move along the sinuous and three-dimensional curves of the knit design.
At the heart of this vision, a unique stone takes shape, also conceived by the brand’s team and crafted using Stratasys 3D printing: a contemporary gem, suspended between reality and artifice, capable of amplifying the perception of depth.
The third look centers on the use of polyurethane yarns, a technical material that provides structure, elasticity, and durability. The design interacts with the nature of the material, generating sculptural forms that combine functionality and aesthetics, in a design vision oriented toward the future.
Knitwear Legacy is a tangible example of how the union of creativity, craftsmanship, and technology can generate new forms of expression in contemporary knitwear. With this project, D-house Knitwear confirms its role as an experimental laboratory and a benchmark for responsible innovation in the fashion sector.
