Gen Z Lab – Young Visions vs Old Patterns

On the National Made in Italy Day, D-house Laboratorio urbano, the Dual Innovation Hub of the Pattern Group, is organizing the GEN Z LAB titled Young Visions vs Old Patterns on May 7: a day open to the public dedicated to the future of skills in the fashion industry.

The initiative stems from the awareness that the value of Made in Italy lies not only in the products, but above all in the skills that make them possible—and in the ability to pass them on, evolve them, and keep them relevant over time.

The transfer of know-how between generations today represents one of the most urgent challenges for the supply chain.

New organizational models, cultural transformations, and changes in professional expectations are redefining the relationship between young people and work, challenging established methods of learning and continuity.

Within this context, the contribution of younger generations becomes central.

THE GEN Z LAB

On May 7, D-house will host a Gen Z Lab at its operational headquarters at Designtech: a project-based workshop where students are invited to engage with these themes actively and critically.

Organized into groups and supported by moderators, participants will work to:

  • analyze the main challenges in transferring skills
  • reflect on the attractiveness of manufacturing professions
  • develop proposals and models to foster effective knowledge transfer

The workshop will conclude with project presentations in front of a jury composed of professionals and industry representatives.
