How to do classic
December 15, 2022
D-house laboratorio urbano provided its technological know-how to designer Rick Rhe, developing an experimental 3D-printed suede garment for the international exhibition “Beyond Textile”, on display until October 2025 at the Daegu Textile Museum in South Korea.
A fusion of high-tech processes and traditional craftsmanship, the project expresses a bold vision for the future of sustainable fashion. The exhibition invites visitors to explore how textile technologies – including 3D printing – are reshaping the language of design. From wearable pieces to experimental surfaces, the works on display highlight the limitless potential of reimagined materials to promote sustainability, aesthetic evolution, and interdisciplinary creativity.
The garment was created using Stratasys 3D printing technology, a D-house partner, opening up new expressive possibilities for suede as an innovative textile surface.
A concrete example of how the synergy between innovative materials and digital technologies can shape a contemporary and responsible aesthetic, contributing to a new vision of fashion that is sustainable, creative, and industry-oriented.
